"Herpes OB can be a pimple not a lesion? Can be any style?"

I am still learning all about this Herpes thing having been diagnosed with hsv2 in April.

It seems to me many people who have herpes have actual lesions or cold sore like sores, or big blisters?

So perhaps one tiny pimple isn't a usual herpes outbreak?

One tiny pimple is all I have now. And maybe a second smaller one.

I have a friend now who has had herpes she says for 20 years. Her outbreaks are like rubbed raw places which crack and burn inside her labia, she describes.

Just trying to figure out if herpes makes its appearance in various forms (i.e. pimples, blisters, lesions, cold sore like, or cracking inside labia?), rather than always one kind.

thanks!

I think people who have the "classic" fluid filled sores are in the minority since most people with herpes don't know they have it b/c they don't have these sores but symptoms which are different.

They can range from things that look like ingrown hairs, pimples, raw areas like your friend has, lesions which look like cuts, or even just some irritated or itchy spots as well as no symptoms at all.

If I get an outbreak on my genitals it feels sore in a specific spot, but there is never anything there to see. If I get an outbreak on my butt, it's a small cluster of tiny blisters.

I think the thing to remember about herpes is that it comes and goes, so anything that lasts for longer than a week is probably something else.

Thanks for the descriptions of H sores/etc.

I find this forum so helpful. I know I am asking a lot of questions, but that is what is so great - being able to research answers through questions other people asked and read up on the subject.

perhaps this thread will prove helpful to someone else new - the descriptions of the many different forms the H can look like. I'm hoping maybe other folks will describe how their outbreaks look.

Interesting it should only last a week - so an active spot, such as a pimple-like spot that lasts longer is probably not an H outbreak, it is most likely just a pimple.

Mine personally looks like a slightly raised pink pump. I get mine on the perineum or anus. Sometimes it doesn't look like anything but I can feel that the area is just more sensitive to the touch.

I've also began to get these tears/cuts on the genital skin inside the folds once in a while but I am not sure if that's an outbreak or just skin tearing b/c it's more sensitive or something like that.
