Name: Rick H
Occupation: Network Administrator
Yr. Infected 1998
OB's per yr: So far I have only had one out break.
Prodromes: Just a redness in the area.
Method of Control: I do try to watch what I eat, I have found a list of foods that are high in Lysine at www.herpes.com
My Story: I found out one day after my Daughter had been hit by a car. I guess it put enough stress on me to have an OB. I thought that it was poison ivy at first. I had gone fishing a couple of weeks before that and had a bad case at the time, so I was there to have that checked and showed them the spot on my p___s (want to keep a G rating) and the Doctor said that it did not look like poison ivy there. They ran the test, and it came back positive. I don't know where I got it. Since I wasn't dating anyone at the
time I found out, it's been no big deal. As far as I can tell I have not passed it on to anyone. I do know that I will dread if a time ever comes when I would have to tell someone. I was home 2 weeks ago (Louisville, KY) and I could not find the nerve to tell my family, or it could have been that I had no reason. I don't know.
Medical Experiences: Used Zovirax and the lesions were gone in a week.
Telling: Donít know what I will do if I have to tell someone. I do know that I cannot sleep with anyone unless they know that I have HSV. Iím an honest person. I would not be able to live with myself if I did that.
