' Diagnosis - 'Positive'.'

Fade out,
Fade away
Into the background...

Hide in a corner,
Like a vague image
In a surrealistic painting...
Never clearly defined;
Never to be in the foreground,
Too risky...
Always the chance
Of being damaged...

Memories...
A painting hanging on a wall,
To be admired
And respected.
My contribution to society
Has been and gone...

Never again to be touched...
Like a photograph,
My image is fixed,
Frozen in time
While I am still here,
Still breathing,
Still feeling,
But locked away...

Rose :

Consider the rose,
First a bud;
Petals tightly closed...
With-holding it's inner beauty
From one and all...
Awaiting the day,
When Sun, rain
And the passage of time...
Cause it to blossom ;
Unfurling it's petals,
Like pages in a book
For all to see...

Releasing it's fragrance,
So sweet and enticing...
Exposing itself,
To nature's harsh elements...

Drawing admiration,
Only to have it's life cut short...
Severed from it's stem,
By a swift hand...

Left in a vase,
To wither and die...

Poor suffering rose.
